shit's creek. Sulake will not do anything for a while after this. I can
guarantee that Sulake does not know about most of the bigger hotels.
Considering if you report a hotel, they don't even say anything about
it, they just say, "Okay, thank you for reporting, we'll look into it as
soon as possible." Their moderators might as well say, "Take a piece of
paper, and write a letter to someone who gives a fuck, I'm just here to
collect my paycheck."
This will probably stop the stupid little kids, who took out daddy's big
boy credit card to buy a server, from owning hotels, you know, the L33t
ub3r h4x0rs who think they're so "badass" because they can boot hotels
and then they think they can magically gain users from doing that. This
is a new age of Habbo Retros, and I think there's a rough road ahead
that will allow only the toughest to survive. The amount of retros was
just getting too high and the user counts on retros were getting smaller
and smaller because of the fact that the users were being distributed
to different retros voluntarily just because they want the one, the
only, the big kahuna Staff Job that really is just a pain in the ass to
begin with and is 90% of the time, all drama.
Aaron's plan for Phoenix was like the Death Star. It was amazing,
practically indestructible, except that one little loop-hole that fucked
him over which was the fact that he charged people for it instead of
releasing it for free. If it was free, he could have deleted it all and
cut his losses, but now there are records, bills of sale, etc. PayPal
can sometimes be your PayEnemy. ;)
LOL, Are you joking? Learn? That's too much work for them. They need
someone to hold their hand and say, "It's okay, Aaron will fix it when
he has the time. Yes he will. Yes he will! Oh! What's that? Got your
noseeee!" Like I'd said, only the strong will survive in this next age
of Habbo Retro Development, and I'm sorry to say about 80% of Pheonix
users will just drop everything and say fuck it because they're weak
now. Their users are scattering to other hotels as we speak while all
their EMUs are down.
I ain't scared of no Sulake. I understand where you're coming from, but I
think they will only go after a few hotels and just drop it. They could
just go down the list of TheHabbos, but is it really worth the time? If
they really want to go after us. Just take down the TopSites lists, and
they'd have to get rid of DevBest, Other Crap Forums, and, oh lord,
RaGEZONE. I don't think MentaL would just let them "walk all over him"
like they did with Aaron in a sort. I think if they're going after us,
we oughta put up a fight. Not in the sense of #FREESOJOBO or
#FUCKSULAKE, but in the sense that we should start researching and
finding the loopholes within law. They want to walk all over us because
most of us are young and teenagers, and some of you are right. They want
to give us a good scare, but here's how I see it. They're trying to get
their money's worth before they shut down, so unless you're ringing in
money by the assload, then you should be fine. They're not going to try
and squeeze an empty bottle of ketchup (or toothpaste whatever you want
to use as an analogy).
It is not illegal to have habbo sections therefore Sulake won't go after Ragezone.

Nor is it illegal to develop software from scratch, but I guess they beg
to differ. Classic Facebook "Social Network" story, but Aaron just
ain't as rich as Zuckerberg. If they really do plan to take out the "big
fish", I personally say RaGEZONE is the next biggest, but I don't think
they're going to file a lawsuit against RaGEZONE, but I do think they
will demand information about users once it does come to them. They
should also go after DCR-Project or
DCR-Project - Home
because that's where a LOT of people get their SWFs. All I've got to
say is that if you've ever released any EMU Software or anything of the
like, you oughta start hiding some of your profile information. ;) I'm
clean.

I am dead serious. This happened to me.

RaGEZONE is NOT a threat to Sulake and MentaL is not responsible for the content posted by users.
Since Aaron himself posted the content on ************** he is responsible for it. (Phoenix)

I've never handed user information over to a company and I don't intend to start any time soon.

Anyways, that being said, what do you think retros will come to now?
With Phoenix development being terminated, a lot of hotels have
disappeared for obvious reasons. I'd like to say maybe 85-90% of people
nowadays used Phoenix for emulation of their Habbo Server. Without the
"noob" friendly emulator, beginners now have to learn the fun advanced
stuff to get a good retro going. Do you think Sulake will start taking
action on bigger hotels? Do you think this is just Sulake giving the
retro community a scare? Let the community know what you think will
happen next!
I think we're going to enter in a new "Holograph" era, with opensuorce
emulators, less hotels but with better developing and not all identical.

Couldn't agree more, best stage in the history of retros so far.

I'm pretty sure RaGEZONE have been targetted by Sulake before...

I still have my retro up and running, but
it is not in a web site lol, but hosted in my xampp server. All I did
with it was de-compile the Flash (ActionScript) source, changed a few
images and pictures, and had my own custom furniture. I have been dying
for this source code of aarons, never found any luck finding it, because
if I did I would of offered it to everyone in this shit. It always
occurred to me, why not just make my own emulator? Maybe I would have to
learn some C# since that is what Phoenix is compiled from and seems
stable. I am not sure where to start, maybe I should look at the old
holograph emu and see how the source code looks (which I still have).

I don't think it is a bad thing, Phoenix was overused, you could go on
30 different hotels and find them all running on phoenix. Because it
wasn't open source hotel owners were limited to what they could change
so all hotels had almost exactly the same features.
Now more people will begin to use BcStorm and other open source
alternatives which will hopefully encourage hotel owners to customise
their emulators more.
As long as people use open source Sulake wont be able to do anything
because if they take the developer to court another person will just use
the source and continue developing.
office.boy 05:31 PM 2 Weeks Ago
They'll be even more poorly implemented than they currently are.
Jonteh 06:04 PM 2 Weeks Ago
Retros aren't going to change, except there won't be a noob friendly emulator available for quite some time.
Hotels will be around till the day Habbo dies and longer, there's just too many of us to stop it.
I'm not scared of Sulake, this shit just keeps life exciting.
DominicGunn 12:49 AM 2 Weeks Ago
As soon as Sulake win against Aaron, they'll push harder with the DMCA's against the big hotels.
If you continue to ignore them, I am almost certain they'll just take
your company or person(s) to court in the US (or Finland, i'm not sure
on their copyright laws or stance on DMCA) and destroy you there.
Not being "scared of Sulake" after they win against Aaron in court is stupid.

Off shore hosting... Sulake would be powerless?
Does anyone else think Habbo should do something similar to Minecraft,
instead of attacking developers, allow people to setup 'Habbo servers'
similar to how people who buy Minecraft can setup 'Minecraft servers'.
I'm sure Sulake could find a way to make this work and get lots of money
out of 12 year olds at the same time, they've had enough practise.
